DGEL SOCOSAT 15233
Product Description
DGEL is a high-performance, alcohol- and halogen-free solvent cleaner formulated for safe removal of cable gels and blocking compounds from copper and fibre-optic communication cables. It leaves no residue after evaporation, reduces VOCs versus fast-evaporating solvents, and is available as a liquid or pre-saturated low-lint wipe for safe field use

DGEL Telecom Cable & Tool Solvent Cleaner – Product Information
Specifications of DGEL Telecom Cable & Tool Solvent Cleaner
Technical notes
DGEL was developed to remove cable filling compounds and gels efficiently while preserving ID inks and splice integrity. The pre-saturated wipe option removes the hazards of transporting loose flammable liquids and simplifies field handling
- Alcohol & halogen free
- No residue after evaporation
- Available as pre-saturated wipes
- Suitable for copper and fibre optic cables
Application & Use of DGEL
- Remove bulk gel from the cable cluster using a pre-saturated DGEL wipe or by dipping into DGEL liquid
- Allow a few minutes for the solvent to dislodge contaminants
- Use a fresh wipe to clean back individual cable jackets to prepare for stripping
- Expose cable ends for jointing or splicing and clean each strip from the jacket ends outwards
- Dispose of used wipes in an appropriate waste bin according to local regulations
- Can be used for general degreasing of tools, equipment and painted surfaces
Key Benefits of DGEL
- Efficient removal of cable gels and blocking compounds without damaging conductors or splice materials
- Leaves no sticky residue after evaporation for reliable jointing and splicing operations
- Reduces splicing failures and moisture permeation, increasing cable life
- Pre-saturated wipe format removes hazards of loose flammable liquids and eases logistics
- Controlled evaporation rate lowers solvent consumption and VOC emissions versus fast-evaporating cleaners
- Suitable for both copper and fibre optic cable maintenance tasks
